December 13 Weekend – Know Before You Go

Let. It. Snow. Mother Nature appears to be opening the floodgates this weekend and we could see upwards of 30cms of the fluffy white stuff, starting Saturday (as of the time of this post, it’s already falling!).

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTE 🚨 we anticipate strong to extreme alpine winds on Saturday, peaking midday, which will impact our alpine lifts and upper gondola lines. This may result in delays and closures, and we recommend staying close to our website, social channels and the My Epic app for operational updates throughout the day. Sunday is forecasted to return to normal conditions – consider making this your day to ski and ride!

Here’s what else to expect this weekend at Whistler Blackcomb:

🏔️ : The north side of 7th Heaven is now open, bringing our total skiable acres of terrain across both mountains to over 6,000! As mentioned, with weather events that bring wind and snow accumulation, expect delays in opening the alpine as our Patrol teams work to make these areas safe.

🚑 : Speaking of safety – please keep it top of mind and remember that we’re still in early season conditions. Ski with a buddy, obey all signage, educate yourself about the alpine environment, know the Alpine Responsibility Code, and have our ski patrol phone number saved (1-604-935-5555). Be mindful of the increased risks of tree well incidents while glade skiing due to heavy snow accumulation.
🅿️ : Snow = traffic. Please, plan your journey and carpool if you can to reduce congestion. Our trial carpool program is underway between the hours of 6-11am in Upper Lot 7 and P1 of the Creekside Parkade for vehicles with four or more passengers. (After 11am, they open up to anyone, regardless of the number of passengers!)

🍽️ : Chic Pea and Raven’s on Whistler, and Crystal Hut on Blackcomb, open this weekend. Steeps and Pika’s in the Roundhouse will re-open, offering more dining options for guests.

🚠 : Fitzsimmons Express and Garbanzo Express turn back on. Downloading from our mid stations is recommended (don’t worry – ski outs are coming).

The banner start to the season continues! Hope you’re able to enjoy it!
