Whistler Blackcomb and Epic Promise Launch $10 Shoulder Season Community Meal Program

As Whistler transitions from a bustling winter to a quieter shoulder season, local workers often face reduced hours and diminished income. In response, Whistler Blackcomb, in partnership with the Whistler Community Services Society, has introduced the Shoulder Season Community Meal Program. This initiative is designed to provide affordable, nutritious meals to Whistler residents and Whistler Blackcomb employees during this transitional period.

Commencing Thursday, May 1, the program operates weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Merlin’s Bar & Grill. Each meal is priced at $10 (tax included) and features a rotating menu that accommodates vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dietary requirements. Take-out service is also available for those who prefer to dine at home.

Through WB Epic Promise, 25 to 50 complimentary meal tickets will be provided each week for donation to the Whistler Food Bank, ensuring that residents beyond the company’s workforce have access. Community members in need may claim donated tickets from the Whistler Community Services Society, and those able to contribute may purchase tickets directly.

Plans are already underway to expand the program into autumn in collaboration with local partners and hospitality providers. Whistler Blackcomb hopes that other businesses will adopt this model and host similar community dinners on designated weekdays.

Supporting the broader community reflects one of Whistler Blackcomb’s core values. Positive feedback from Whistler Community Services and other stakeholders has been overwhelming, and we anticipate further growth and collaboration in the months ahead.
