Know Before You Go: John Summit

Get ready, Whistler – John Summit is taking over Lot 7 and we’re turning the mountain into the ultimate winter dance floor. Before you drop in for the night, here’s everything you need to know to make your arrival (and your exit) smooth as this Experts Only Whistler Ski Weekend begins.

Lot 7 Closure

Please note: Lot 7 will be closed from Monday, March 9 through Monday, March 17 to accommodate John Summit event set‑up.  There will be no reservations for Lot 7 at this time. 

Spruce Grove will supplement loss of parking lots for March 14-15 with shuttles to the Whistler Village running form 8:00 AM till 5:15PM every 15 minutes – free bookings can be made via Honk

Getting to the Venue

1. Gondola Access

The Excalibur Gondola will transport concertgoers from Whistler Village to the Base II station, located roughly 60 metres (200 feet) from the event entrance.

  • Upload begins at 3:30 pm
  • Download continues until all guests have left.
  • There will be clearly marked lines for VIP and General Admission

Please note that Excalibur Gondola will also be used by the public to access staff housing, Lot 6, and the Tube Park (open until 6 pm).

2. Shuttle Access

A shuttle service will run between Whistler Village non-stop until after the concert has ended.

Shuttle Pickup Location:
Whistler Village Gondola Transit Exchange on Blackcomb Way.

  • From 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm: Pickup will be along the curb on Blackcomb Way
  • After 8:00 pm: Pickup and drop-off will move into the shared‑use lane inside the bus loop
  • Shuttle service begins at 3:30 pm
  • Shuttle service ends after the final attendees have returned to the Village 
  • The ride between the Village and Base II takes approximately 7 minutes

The shuttle stop at Base II will be clearly signed for both arrival and departure.

3. Do Not Walk to the Site

Walking to the event is NOT recommended. Glacier Drive is a narrow, winding road with limited shoulder space, and pedestrian access is not advised. 

However, a marked walking path will be available for the exit of the event.  Please beware the path may be slippery, walk at your own risk.  It is not available open until after the event. 

4. Mountain Access

If you choose to arrive via Blackcomb Mountain, please be aware that skiing or riding down after the show will not be permitted. All guests must download or use designated transportation options after the event.

After the Concert

  • The concert ends at 9:00 pm and all guests are required to make their way down the mountain via shuttle, gondola or walking on assigned trails
  • Both shuttle service and gondola download will continue until all guests have departed

Walking Download Option:

  • Mats will be installed from Lot 6 down the Little Burn hiking trail to support guests who choose to walk down after the event. Please follow all marked signage and the guidance of Whistler Blackcomb patrollers along the route. This trail is for downhill use only after the show and will not be open for walking access to the venue prior to.
