WHISMAS READY 2026 TRAIL REPORT

Your prayers have been answered, the Bike Park season you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Summer 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant seasons in the park’s history, and it’s already stacking up to be an all-time favourite.

We’re just a few sleeps away from opening day on May 15, which means it’s time to pull out the full-face helmets, dust off the goggles, and give your bike the service it deserves because it’s time to shred.

Zone Opening Dates

Fitzsimmons Zone: May 15 – October 12
Garbanzo Zone: June 13* – September 23
Creekside Zone: June 20* – September 23
Peak Zone / Top of the World: Opening TBD based on conditions, with operations planned through September 13
* reminder all zone opening dates are subject to change due to weather and conditions.

What’s Up For Whismas

Locals know that Whismas opening day brings out the true bike park frothers the kind who camp out in line long before sunrise, just waiting for the lifts to start spinning. This year is no exception, with riders already staking their claim as early as 5 AM on Wednesday morning, setting up camp outside Fitzsimmons with bikes locked in place at the front of the line. Equipped with lawn chairs, too many chip bags to count, a ton of games, and lots of warm blankets in the tent, these early birds are in it for one thing: first laps with their crew, straight to Dirt Merchant.

SRAM has a sweet Whismas giveaway lined up, those in line by 8:30 AM will be entered to win a SRAM 1987 Groupset, so it’s definitely worth getting there early. You can also check out Oakley goggle demos, a Crankbrothers Pedal Spa & games, and the Commencal station on site Friday and Saturday.

Of course, the classics – coffee, donuts, lots of swag for our first in liners, and a few fun competitions for those who are waiting.

Not an early riser? No problem. Opening day is all about the atmosphere and there’s plenty of energy to go around no matter when you roll in.

The Ultimate Event Calendar

This season is bringing competition and racing for every type of rider. From Phat Wednesday Races to WORCA Toonies and BC Cup action, the calendar is packed. Fan favourites like Women’s and Men’s Nights are back, making it easier than ever to get involved and ride with the community.

And of course, you won’t want to miss the 21st edition of Crankworx Whistler (July 24–August 2), when the village comes alive with world-class riding, high speed adrenalin, nonstop energy, and epic parties.

Capping it all off, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will host the inaugural UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill from September 25–27—a milestone moment for the park and a can’t-miss event for fans of the sport.
