General Know-Before-You-Go Opening Day (and Season-Long) Information
Here are some key things to know before joining us here at Whistler Blackcomb this season:
- Whistler Blackcomb’s Opening Day for the 2022/23 season is Thursday, November 24!
- Guest Services Operations: Daily from 8am-5pm
- Snow School: Group and private lessons available, book ahead of time for the best rates and to guarantee availability.
- Base Operations: Whistler access from Whistler Village Gondola and Fitzsimmons Express Chair. Blackcomb Mountain access from Excalibur Gondola and Blackcomb Gondola.
- Lifts spinning starting at 8:15am on Opening Day! Blackcomb Mountain will have Blackcomb Gondola, Excalibur Gondola, Excelerator, Jersey Cream, and Catskinner; Whistler Mountain will have Whistler Village Gondola, Fitzsimmons, Garbanzo, Emerald, and Franz’s Chair. That means an early season terrain package of 125 skiable acres on Blackcomb and 116 acres on Whistler.
- Downloading: Due to early season conditions, there is a mandatory download in effect from Blackcomb, Excalibur, + Whistler Village Gondolas (top and mid), and Fitzsimmons.
- Have your card from last season, and purchased a pass/ticket online for 2022/23? No need to visit the window – these are reloaded to your existing pass or mailed to you (within 14 days).
- Beat the lines! Whistler Village Guest Services is open NOW for pass/lift ticket pickup ahead of Opening Day. · Haven’t received your pass in the mail? Check your Epic Account to sign your waiver and upload your photo.
- Purchased a restricted pass, Epic local pass, or student pass? Be sure to check your blackout dates before visiting!
- Secure Your Spot: Lift tickets are limited every day this season in order to preserve the guest experience, so make sure to purchase lift tickets online in advance to guarantee lift access.
- Be smart out there! Ski or ride with a buddy, obey all signage, and remain aware and vigilant of the alpine environment. We highly recommend keeping our Ski Patrol phone number saved (604-935-5555). Check out more info on safety here.
- Make sure you’re properly outfitted when you arrive! Don’t forget to bring (or pick up) your pass or lift ticket, helmet, goggles, gloves, sunscreen, water bottle… and plenty of smiles!
- Please be aware of our parking plans given the construction delays at Creekside (outlined below). We encourage guests to carpool if possible, to alleviate pressure on our lots.
For real-time operational updates, follow @wbmtnops on Twitter.
Coming from Creekside? Here’s what to know until the Creekside Gondola upgrade construction is completed.
Until uploading from the Creekside area is possible upon completion of the project, Whistler Blackcomb will provide a free shuttle service between the area and Whistler Village. Here’s what to know:
PARKING
- Whistler Blackcomb Base II Lots (6-8) and Creekside parkade will remain open and free.
- Resort Municipality of Whistler’s Village Lots (1-5) will operate as normal.
- Electronic road signs will be operating throughout construction, providing parking/shuttle information and updates when Blackcomb and Village lots are full. Guests are encouraged to follow @wbmtnops on Twitter for updates.
- Guests do not need to have accommodations in Creekside to ride the shuttle service.
SHUTTLES
- Shuttles will run frequently between 7am at 5pm daily.
- During peak periods (weekends and powder days), there will be more shuttles in service.
- Guests in Creekside will be picked up/dropped off at pull-ins outside of Legends and the parkade on London Lane.
- Blackcomb Shuttles will drop off/pick up at the Blackcomb Daylodge Loop, and Whistler Shuttles will drop off/pick up at the Gondola Transit Exchange.
PRIORITY LIFT LINES
- Guests offloading shuttles will be directed to enter priority lines at Blackcomb Gondola, Excalibur Gondola, Fitzsimmons Express and Whistler Village Gondola. However, we encourage guests to use either the Blackcomb Gondola or Fitzsimmons Express.
- Lifts will begin running 15 minutes early at 8:15am (if weather and lighting permit).
Like many in our community, we are disappointed that the new Creekside Gondola is delayed. However, we want to share our immense gratitude for our team’s incredible commitment, focus, and passion for all they have done – and continue to do – in service of these projects and the guest experience. We are focused on what we can control and remain resolute on finishing these projects in a timely and safe manner, while still providing a great start to the season for everyone who joins us.
