One of the biggest events in mountain biking kicks off Friday, July 19 and runs through Sunday, July 28 here in Whistler – the place where it all began. Whether you’re a spectator, athlete, or regular guest of Whistler Blackcomb/Whistler Mountain Bike Park, it’s important to be aware of this event and its impact on the resort so that you can enjoy the week to its fullest. Athlete Registration
- Advance online registration for all events is required – full details are online.
- Registration will not be offered onsite – only a check-in desk for pre-registered competitors.
- The Crankworx Event Office Athlete Center will be at the following locations/dates:
- Creekside Village Guest Services – July 17 – 20.
- Aava Hotel Whistler (Middle Conference Room) – July 21 – 28.
- Athlete Center operating hours vary day to day and are listed online.
- Kidsworx races have online pre-registration at Crankworx.com.

How to Watch
- Lower Whistler Mountain Events (Skier’s Plaza – bottom of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park): Red Bull Joyride. Spectators have the option to view competitions from Skier’s Plaza or to hike up the mountain to watch beside the fences.
- Boneyard at Base of Whistler Mountain: Specialized Dual Slalom Whistler, Outdoor Research Speed & Style, Ultimate Pump Track Challenge, Crankworx Whistler Air DH, Official Whip-Off World Championships presented by POC (July 24) Access these events on foot via the designated walking path from the base of the bike park.
- Whistler Mountain Bike Park Events: Garbanzo DH, Canadian Open Enduro, Kidsworx Enduro, Kidsworx B-Line DH, Crankworx Whistler Adaptive DH Spectators with a bike and a Whistler Bike Park lift ticket can catch some of the action by riding down adjacent trails to view races. Spectators without a bike can catch the finish line in Skier’s Plaza.
- Creekside Zone – Whistler Mountain Bike Park: RockShox Canadian Open DH (July 21). Spectators with a bike and a Whistler Bike Park lift ticket can catch some of the action by riding down adjacent trails to view practice, seeding and the races. Spectators without a bike can catch the finish line at the Timing Flats above Creekside. A public shuttle will be operating to the Timing Flats from the front of Legends.
- Whistler Olympic Plaza Events: Dirt Diaries film contest, Deep Summer Photo Challenge Free spectators’ viewing at Whistler Olympic Plaza. A free bike valet is available to store bikes for these events.
Trail Closures
If you’re riding in Whistler Mountain Bike Park during the festival, it’s important to be aware of ongoing trail closures during Crankworx. Please check visit our Trail Status Page before heading out to plan your day accordingly. As a reminder, passes will be revoked for guests who disobey trail closure signs. Please respect closures for your safety and the safety of others.
Parking
- Paid parking is available in Day Lots 1, 3, 4 & 5 for the duration of Crankworx. Day Lot 2 will NOT be available for parking, as it will be home to the Crankworx Tech and Demo Zones.
- Free parking is available in Day Lots 6, 7 & 8. Excalibur gondola will NOT be running so you will be able to walk up/down via the Village Run Trail or use the Ascent Trail. On July 27, Excalibur gondola will be running complimentary from approximately 12-9:30 pm. Bikes and pets will not be permitted.
- Parking for the Rockshox Canadian Open DH event in Creekside, will be available on a first-come first-served basis at the Whistler Creekside Parkade. The Parkade is located right across the street from Creekside Gondola, with free parking available.
- A public shuttle will be operating from in front of Legends (opposite Whistler Creekside Parkade) to the finish area of the race. For more details, please visit crankworx.com.

Sightseeing
If you’re planning to visit the resort for our Summer Alpine Experience, we recommend uploading via Blackcomb Gondola in Whistler’s Upper Village to avoid the more crowded skier’s plaza. Tickets are available for purchase at Guest Services or on our website. Once up top, sightseers can cross the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola for access to Whistler Mountain and Peak Express.
