The RockShox 1199 Public Access Weekend is coming up August 17 & 18. Here’s everything you need to know 👇
Time: 12pm to 4pm
Location: The entrance to 1199 is at the top of Creekside Gondola
Details: We’ve had a ton of interest from the public. To promote safety and provide ample space between riders, we’ll have staff at the entrance controlling staggered starts. This may mean guests will need to wait for a period of time before dropping in. As well, we are expecting a high volume of traffic on the trail (especially between 12pm and 2pm each day). Given this, we recommend warming up and riding on other trails in the Park to avoid the opening rush. In the event of incident or injury, call Patrol at 604-905-5555.
Difficulty: Used primarily for pro racing events, this technical downhill track is one of the most difficult in the Park. We recommend ensuring you’re able to comfortably ride double black diamond trails like Goat’s Gully before coming to ride 1199.
Closed Features: All four Pro-Line features on course will be closed to public. These are; Stevie Smith Drop, Fall-away Drop, High line to the Rock Slab, Red Bull Drop. These features are only open to A-Group racers (pro’s) during the RockShox Canadian Open DH Race.
Conditions: Given the difficulty of the trail, we will only run the event if weather and track conditions permit. We need to minimize hazards and may cancel Sunday’s portion of the event given projected rainfall. Please stay close to our social media for updates.
We’re stoked to welcome guests to this iconic trail for the first time since its completion!
