With Opening Day scheduled for November 22, our team is gearing up for another exciting winter on the slopes. We know that our guests are eager to slash some powder – but before making your first trip, it’s important to familiarize yourself with a new parking initiative rolling out for the 2024/25 season.
This winter, we’re launching a trial program to incentivize carpooling. Those who carpool with four or more occupants in a single vehicle will gain access to free priority parking at two of our parking lots: Creekside Garage P1 level and Upper Lot 7. The program will be in effect on weekends and peak days between 6:00am-11:00am. After 11:00am, these lots will open to all vehicles (and remain free), regardless of the number of passengers in each vehicle. We will continue to ask for feedback throughout the trial and will adjust in-season and beyond as needed. The new program is a trial within a year-long parking study to objectively measure, observe, estimate and record key parking and mobility characteristics of the vehicle traffic attracted to the resort on typical and peak days. Our goal following this work is to reduce traffic congestion, improve access to parking and contribute to a positive experience for everyone who enjoys the beauty of our mountain community. As guests make plans to visit Whistler Blackcomb this season, we’re encouraging carpooling to take advantage of the priority parking opportunities and free up more spaces in town for everyone to access the mountain faster.
